September 2, 2013 at 4:28 pmI worked Friday and Saturday, helped a friend move on Sunday and then worked again today. BOO! But, I’m having a nice mall day with my little brother tomorrow!
Ps I just got thinking that if I won the cookbook I would share it with my brother. Our dad is an awful cook and there is a big age difference between us so I don’t live at home and the boy needs to learn how to cook to impress the ladies!!!:-P

September 2, 2013 at 4:28 pmThis weekend my husband and I participated in the Green Mountain Adventure Challenge in West Dover, Vermont. It entailed hours of hiking, following clues, and of course getting lost but was a ton of fun. Thanks for the giveaway!

September 2, 2013 at 4:35 pmMy husband and I lounged around in the backyard on Saturday. We had an awesome salad for dinner that night with fresh lettuce, tomatoes and veggies from the garden. After church on Sunday we went into Vancouver B.C., our hometown and rented a hotel room for the night… right down in Coal Harbour! A beautiful place with walking paths, eateries and views of the mountains and water. We rented bikes and road around Stanley Park. For those of you that don’t know anything about Stanley park, it is the largest and probably one of the oldest parks in Vancouver. Located right down on the waters edge, with many beaches and views of the lions ( they are peaks on grouse mountain), I think it is the number one tourist attraction in Vancouver. We spent the whole two hours that we had the bikes, riding and stopping at all the sites in the park. We had a fun dinner at a pizza joint on Denman street, where we had pizza made with spelt flour. Whatever type of food you are looking for, you will find it here on Denman. A little people watching, then we walked along the water back to the hotel, where we went for a late night swim and hottub in their outddoor spa area. We had such a beautiful night view of the water and Grouse mountain it was hard to settle down and get some rest. Today after we checked out, we went for lunch at the Urban Fair market across the street. this place is awesome and with great prices. I had homemade macaroni with real chedder cheese and my husband had the roasted chicken, one of each, Italian herb and cajun, along with mashed potatoes and gravey. Oh my …it was yummy! We then took a nice walk the other way on the walkway. Past the new convention centre and along the waterwalk past the 5 sails at Canada Place, where the Disney cruise ship “the Wonder” was loading new passengers for their last Alaskan run of the season. We spent the rest of the afternoon down in Gastown. Another favourite spot for tourists to visit. All this in 24 hours! We so enjoyed playing tourists in our own hometown of Vancouver, B.C. Now, as I am typing this my husband is crashed in the lounge chair beside me out in our backyard. Awwww it’s good to be home and rest! π

September 2, 2013 at 4:50 pmWe have had a sad weekend – our cat delivered two stillborn kittens. While I was upset she got pregnant before I got her spayed, I am sad the kittens died. Also I had to work on both Saturday and Sunday but at least have Monday off to just read and chill.

September 2, 2013 at 4:51 pmI went to WMSTR (Western Minnesota Steam Thresher’s Reunion) with my parents and little sister, then we drove four hours down to the cities. The next day we met family for dinner, spent a few hours at the Science Museum of MN, and went to the state fair so my little sister could show for her last year in 4-H before wandering around the fair; eating deep fried snicker bars and roasted corn on the cob! Just drove back home today. π I would loooove one of your cookbooks!!!

September 2, 2013 at 4:56 pmI’m currently living in Thailand so I ate yummy Thai food, attended a Burmese/Karen church service, had a delicious Saturday dinner at British friends’ home with other new friends, and spent time helping at the Infant Home (the organization my friend and I are serving with has a home for abandoned babies) and playing with kids the Dump (they also go two evenings a week to the local city garbage disposal where Burmese refugees literally live and make their living by going through the mountains of trash).
