Spent the weekend cleaning out & reorganizing my garage, while hosting a houseful of kids. Today I’ve given haircuts & am now writing out lesson plans for my homeschooled children to do tomorrow. All while being on call for the nursing agency I work for! Busy but blessed! πŸ™‚

I found some long hidden motivation this weekend and thoroughly cleaned my kitchen! I chipped away a little each day, spreading it out around friends and church. It feels great now to see it (especially my junk-free ‘junk’ counter!)

I went kayaking for the first time, watched the first season of Elementary (yes the whole thing), took the kids to see Turbo and then did regular household chores. I love having an extra day on the weekend.

Sadly I have a nasty case of poison sumac, so I’ve been lazily sittin on the couch for over a week now just reading and watching movies. It would be fun except for the aggravating itching going on. πŸ˜‰ But it was nice to spend moments in laughter with various members of my family – they always brighten a day. πŸ˜€

My son came home from college on Friday and I spent all weekend cooking stuff for him to take back to his apartment. I smoked brisket, and chicken, made meatloaf, homemade bread, two chocolate pies and two cheesecakes. He went back yesterday with his bounty and I am resting today. I have labored a lot this weekend. πŸ™‚

I cleaned house worked a little in the yard and boxed up some dishes and other kitchen items to sell. My 82 year old Mother is moving in with me at the end of the year. (moan/groan/yippee) Groomed my two Shelties, sketched and painted while my favorite movies were playing in the background. Today I baked a ham, saved some for me, dogs and the kitties, then took the rest to my Mom. She was soooo excited, she is easy to please. I had a nice poke and piddle weekend! I hope you had a wonderful weekend too!

My husband & I went camping! We started out in Bowling Green, KY, but decided we couldn’t stay there because there was no phone service and I would’ve been devastated if anything happened to my Dad and no one could get in touch with me…..he’s 87! So we left and came back to TN and ended up staying at a wonderful campground in Crossville TN and fished and fished and fished! I missed my kitchen so much! Tomorrow I WILL bake something…..and if I had your cookbook, it would definitely be something from that!

It was supposed to be a nice relaxing weekend, but instead we made it a productive weekend. Painted two rooms, upcycled a coffee table and completely redecorated the living room. We also had some fun and went to a parade. Now my poor husband needs another day off to relax from all the work i made him do… good thing he loves me so much πŸ™‚
