IMG_05761. We have a family of ants living under our kitchen table. We also have their relatives living in our bathroom.

2. I bought one of those swiffer wet jet thingy-ma-jiggers to thoroughly clean and sanitize said floor.

3. The ants aren’t taking the eviction well.

4. A wet clean floor means I can’t finish the laundry. Aww shucks.

5. In an attempt to add a little more organization to my life, I planned out all the recipes I will be testing and blogging for the next 3 weeks.

6. My husband ‘cleaned up’ my desk and now the list is no where to be found.

7. My daughter CANNOT for the life of her take a normal photo. {see above photo} I am concerned about our upcoming family photo session. Good luck, Callie.

8. I’m very curious about all the young ‘hot’ ‘buff’ 20-30 year old men working out at the gym at random times like Thursdays at 11 am. Do they not have jobs? Do they have weird schedules?

9. Oh wait. I found my list!! It was folded up in the middle of this months’ bon appetit magazine….in the bottom of a drawer…..what? Gordon, really?

10. My healthy snacks of the day have included: strawberries, pretzels, diet coke, and 1/2 pan of brownies. Niiiiice.

11. I’m addicted to pinterest. Come find me @laurenslatest. You know you want to be my enabler.

12. I’m not Irish, but feel the need to dye everything green and get a million shamrock shakes. I think my husband is 1/16th Irish, so that means it’s ok, right?

13. Hey! I’m wearing a green shirt! How ironic….

14. Joy the Baker is coming to Portland for her book tour. I heart Joy the Baker. She’s pretty rad. Maybe no one else will show up and I’ll just **hang out with her for two hours and we’ll become the best of friends.

15. I have two sweet potatoes on my counter and am at a loss. What should I make?

16. I think that’s all I’m thinking about right now….

Thank you for listening.

Hey Lauren ants don’t like spearmint. Just get a few plants at a home depot and place them in the kitchen and bathroom. It should do the trick. Also if you find where they are coming from sprinkle some baking powder and/ or caulk the opening 🙂

    1. Terro ant traps = best thing eva! I have so many fruit trees on my property that I have a huge ant problem. This keeps them from in my house :).

    12. Shamrock shakes are DELICIOUS! And they’re only here for a limited time, so drink all you can!

    15. Twice baked sweet potatoes with brown sugar and butter = my most favoritest thing ever!

Don’t you just love Saturdays? As for your sweet potatoes here is a link that just popped up on my RSS feed: http://noblepig.com/2012/03/03/sweet-potato-chips-with-lime.aspx?ref=rss These sound very good. I also have some sweet potatoes that I was going to do up with a pork roast, but I believe this is whats happening in my kitchen.
Cathy at Noble Pig has many very delicious dishes. I have followed her for 4 or 5 years.

Make a healthy snack with those sweet potatoes — sweet potato fries! Slice them like fries, put on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper. Bake 475 deg. 15 minutes, turn with spatula and bake another 10-15 minutes. Soooo good.

I always have the ant problem come spring. I always put a line of Cayenne pepper or even black pepper at my doors and windows where I know they come in.. They won’t cross it. Hope that helps.
    And completely addicted to Pinterest.
And your daughter is too cute.

Your daughter is being original, it’s a stage and she will grow out of it. Next thing she will run from the camera. I love your thoughts!!!

I love savory roasted sweet potatoes. Peel and cube the sweet potatoes. Toss with chopped garlic, chopped onions, fresh rosemary, olive oil and salt/pepper (all to taste). Roast for approx 1 hour at 425 degrees or until lightly browned. I highly recommend using the nonstick foil.
It took me 4 years to find the box of birthday cards that my husband put away for me!

Mmmm…I love sweet potatoes! I’m totally addicted now to sweet potato black bean burgers. I keep a stash in the freezer for quick lunches and even mix in quinoa for extra protein. Or I just pinned a recipe for sweet potato hash with poached eggs from A Couple Cooks.
