1. My husband went to the store to do our weekly grocery shopping. I made the list very specific. He’s been gone 1 1/2+ hours and I’ve received 4 calls thus far. Oh, and he took our daughter too.
He’s a saint.
2. Are 4 desserts too many to make in a 24 hour period? My thighs are concerned.
3. We moved exactly 1 month ago Β today to Portland. It’s rainy and gloomy 94% of the time exactly. Β Oh the trauma my hair has to put up with. The horror!Β
4. Ok, make that 5 phone calls he’s made. “Do you want regular cucumbers or individually wrapped cucumbers?” What a guy!
5. I think I am related to Carrie Underwood. I’ll save that story for another time.
6. Β I bought two of those mini Cinnabon rolls at the mall the other day. Now, I’m obsessed with cinnamon rolls and making a copy cat recipe. Mark my words, I WILL do it.
7. Let’s just say I will be doing a lot of eating this week.
8. My baby is going to be 3 in 2 1/2 weeks. Umm, did I miss something? Excuse me while I go cry myself to sleep.
9. I signed up to do a juice cleanse. I don’t think I realized at the time that a juice cleanse means no food. I may or may not survive. Just know that I love you all dearly.
Thank you for listening.

January 22, 2012 at 12:51 amI love that my hubby went to the store for me too, with a list, only it was before lunch. Not a good idea, the budget was blown! But I didn’t have to go out in 6 inches of snow so I was happy!

January 22, 2012 at 2:22 amHow wonderful that he did the shopping for you and took Brooke with. Lucky you. I have to make a list if mine will go (more like begging) and must put quantities or he will only buy one. Also have to only write on one side of the paper, he will never see anything written in the right side of the column. Oh, and he will come back with peanuts and snacks that weren’t on the list.

January 22, 2012 at 2:37 amAww…it’s fun when husbands go to the store! I’ve seen a Cinnabon clone recipe floating around Pinterest. I think it uses a bread maker, but you could probably adapt it if you don’t have one!

January 22, 2012 at 2:55 am4 desserts in a 24 hour period? Your husband is so lucky! I made 2 desserts today in a 12 hour period so I guess I’m not a good one to ask.

January 22, 2012 at 3:16 amWhat a great guy! Grocery shopping with kids is an experience in itself…And i’m curious too as to what juice cleanse you’re doing? I’ve been wondering about these things and have eaten more than my share of cinnabon’s too, so….I could use it also. Hope the groceries and family members return happily!

January 22, 2012 at 3:17 amWe moved to Portland/Vancouver in May – it has been a big adjustment from our hometown (Phoenix)! Glad I stumbled onto your blog today… I’m really enjoying your posts π Welcome to town!

January 22, 2012 at 3:37 amI was just talking to someone about juice cleanses and saying how I’m pretty sure I’d be at the “I’m dying of starvation” point about 6 hours into it. Good luck!

January 22, 2012 at 4:57 amaww. i love this. that’s so sweet he’s been gone for 1.5 hours with your kid, that’s 2 major brownie points, so you can feed him those 4 desserts. π I just made baked banana bread – what a disaster – too mushy and dense.

January 22, 2012 at 5:26 amHola! We moved to Seattle last year (from the East Coast). I hear you – the gloom is a tough adjustment. My baby is going to be 2 in 2 weeks and I am also freaking out. Glad I am not alone π

January 22, 2012 at 5:32 amAnother vote for the link that Emily put in her comment for the ‘Clone of a Cinnabon’. They are TREMENDOUSLY delicious, and as close to the real thing as possible. If I recall correctly (because I haven’t made them since last winter and I am too lazy to check my cooking binder notes) I use a different frosting, because the one in the recipe is too sweet for my taste. I like it to be cream cheese.

January 22, 2012 at 12:20 pmThe amount of desserts coming out of my kitchen lately is not making my body happy… I don’t think I could ever do a juice cleanse but soon enough I might need it!

January 22, 2012 at 10:35 pmMy daughter turns 3 on Friday – I didn’t realize our kids were so close in age!! I’m kind of freaking out about it, too. How do they grow up so fast??

January 23, 2012 at 1:21 amI love this list, especially the part about how many times your husband called from the grocery store. I think that we are living parallel lives. π Have a great week!

January 23, 2012 at 2:39 amMy gut is concerned over all of the beer I consumed this weekend. At least we’re all not alone. We’re all fighting a battle of epic proportions on the food front I think. Solidarity sister!! haha

January 23, 2012 at 3:24 amYour husband is a saint. If I sent mine to the store with a list of more than 3 things, it would be a disaster. Love this list. Made me giggle!

January 24, 2012 at 4:58 amWelcome to Portland! I grew up here, so I guess I’m used to the weather. But whenever I start getting sick of the grey and rain, I just think about all the crazy weather we DON’T have to deal with around here…tornados, hurricanes, floods, blizzards, horrible heat and humidity and bugs. That makes it worth it to me! π
I just discovered your blog a week or so ago and have been pinning like crazy! You have so many delicious recipes on here…and I have your whole wheat banana bread waffles prepped and ready to go for tomorrow morning. My kids are going to love me! π Can’t wait to hear more about your 4 desserts…your lemon creme brulee cheesecake bars have been screaming my name ever since you posted it!
