Good news, ya’ll! The Lauren’s Latest family is growing! I’m happy to announce that we’ll be expecting a baby come April 2013.
This is VERY happy news for our little family. Gord and I have gone through ups and downs that come along with infertility. Yes, I said infertility. It’s something that many women have to face and it’s heart aching and frustrating. Without getting into too many details, my body doesn’t make it easy for me to get pregnant. But, after almost 2 years of trying and going through 3 different doctors, we feel truly blessed and very lucky that I’m pregnant with a seemingly healthy little baby. It was our {lucky} 7th round of clomid that did the trick. Once we found out that the 7th round actually took, we kept this to ourselves, not even telling close family and friends until we had a 2nd ultrasound to confirm that everything was fine, which it was! 🙂 So, now we are spreading the news and are shouting it from the rooftops!
So right now, I’m 15 weeks and 1 day along….not that I’m counting or anything. Ha! This photo of my little belly was taken this morning. I was really sick to my stomach between weeks 6 and 9, but started to come around week 10. It’s really hard to hide nausea and put on a happy face when you’re out with friends. Just sayin’. I still get exhausted if I overdo it or if I don’t get enough rest. I get lightheaded as well if I stand for too long or if I’m thirsty. I crave salty things…but mostly just fries. Haha! And sugar makes me feel sick to my stomach so I try to avoid sweets. Â I’m mostly still in my regular clothes, although wear my pants unzipped with a belly band to avoid awkward situations.
Anyways, that’s all I can think of for now…
BUT, here’s a question for you: What are your recommendations for comfortable, yet cute maternity clothing? What stores are good for this? All the stuff I’ve found looks like old lady moo-moo gear. Eek!
Ooh, AND: What are your predictions on gender? Boy or girl? Either way we are thrilled. High fives all around!

November 7, 2012 at 7:06 amCongrats!! I found Old Navy & Target to be the best for maternity clothes. They’re cheap and decent looking. At least I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on maternity clothes knowing I would only wear them once — and if by some miracle I have another baby some day, the styles would change anyway and my clothes from 2010 might be out of style. SO – I didn’t spend a lot. I did splurge and buy 1 or 2 things from Gap Maternity (their tank undershirts are wonderful!), though.
Have fun shopping!

November 7, 2012 at 7:16 amCongratulations! My daughter always had the best luck at Motherhood. When I was pregnant with her, I had a choice of sailor tops or bubblegum pink with ruffles, GAK!
Best of luck to you 🙂

November 7, 2012 at 7:42 amOh my goodness…this is great news!! Although I am not a mommy yet, I get so excited when I hear of people having babies when they have had such a difficult time getting pregnant. Anyway, I saw some pretty cute stuff at Old Navy and when my sister was preggo, she really liked the stuff at Gap too. November 7, 2012 at 8:41 amFirst, congratulations! That’s great news!
Second, check out Zulily — it’s one of those daily deals sites specifically for parents of small children or women who are expecting. They typically have great maternity deals.
Third, I’m voting for another girl! Just a hunch from a person on the Internet.

November 7, 2012 at 8:43 amCongratulations!!! If you did a 12 week nuchal screening ultrasound you might be able to tell what your having. I didn’t really believe the hype at first, but I was right on my third and I haven’t been wrong yet! 🙂 (I’m one of those who can’t wait to find out… in case you couldn’t tell! 🙂 )

November 7, 2012 at 9:06 amCongrats again, Lauren. Brooke must be thrilled to have a sibling. We should do a poll for gender reveal, lol. Can’t wait for the virtual baby shower story. Stay healthy and warm – I know that infertility issues is a big part in women’s life, so you’re totally blessed!

November 7, 2012 at 9:33 amCongratulations! I follow your blog through email, so never really comment, but just wanted to wish you well. Babies are blessings sent from above! We have three girls and I was always told by people “you’re definitely having a boy… just look at you!” We had six years between number two and three… so we really had to adjust to get back into the baby groove. My “baby” will be two on Tuesday and it is SO FUN. She is such a card, totally knows she’s cute and fun, and works it all to the max. She is keeping us young, but that will probably make me old in 15 yrs! Just had to brag about her, we love her to bits.
Hope your pregnancy continues to go well, and that in time you’ll be blessed with the safe and healthy arrival of your new little miracle!
