Hi friends! We are closing out 2015 uneventfully at our house. Earlier in the week, we had a wonderful photographer snap a few pictures for our {probably late} Christmas cards and thought I’d share with you our favorites! This year has been quite epic for us, but thankfully mostly in all good ways!
In 2015:
Gordon was GONE January to May for Army training and I was a single parent. I got to see him in February for a quick weekend, but that was it!! It was a pretty rough transition for me, and it was very hard for Gordon to be away from his family so long, but looking back it was 94% worth it! Haha.
In March, I was able to travel home to visit my parents in Eastern Canada with my kiddos. It was a fun time where we got to visit some cousins and family members we usually don’t get to see other than on Facetime. I wish those flights weren’t so darn expensive!
In April, I started creating videos featuring all our favorite spots in Portland! You can see a few in my sidebar. Oh how I love all the fun things there are to do here.
Gordon came home from training in May and I realized that I am even more in love with him than I ever thought possible. Distance does in fact make the heart grow fonder. And all the heavens sang the hallelujah chorus for the following 9141 hours.
I threw my first Indulge Conference!! I didn’t think I could do it, but with the help of some friends and the support of this wonderful blogging community, I was able to make it a success. AND, I even committed to doing another one in 2016!! {Register here if you feel so inclined 😉 }
I became better friends with my friends…if that’s possible. They were and still are life savers! I’m so grateful I have people in my life I can text or call and they are available when I need a little sanity. {Especially helpful when you have no husband!}
Blake turned TWO and Brooke turned 6, though I have no cute video of her stuffing cupcakes into her mouth 😉
I miraculously got pregnant with baby #3! Say whaaaaaaa? Read that story here. Talk about a fun surprise! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I’ll take all the babies I can get! #infertilitysucks
I was able to travel to the Oregon Coast, Florida, Vegas, Washington and Paris with some WONDERFUL bloggers that I actually am lucky enough to call my friends. {Like I harass text them all the time!}
Brooke started first grade and is THRIVING. She loves her teacher and her school.
We got a king size bed!! {It’s been glorious to have, especially during pregnancy}
Gord and I celebrated our eighth wedding anniversary.
This blog turned SIX!
Gord turned 30 and I’m not far behind! Yikes…
We paid off a large chunk of our debts {still have a little ways to go!}
I’ve gotten over 400,000 Facebook friends following my family on this journey we call life! With tens of thousands on other social media channels too!
WHAT A YEAR.
Looking back, I am so grateful for what has come our way. Trials, blessings and all the ‘meh’ days in between.
In 2016:
I can guarantee I will have a baby. YAY!!
I can guarantee he will be adorable.
And I can also guarantee more delicious recipes, more family updates and a whole lot for love and appreciation from my family to yours! Grab some snowman cookies and some hot cocoa and enjoy these fun photos!
xoxo

I especially liked the one where Blake looks like he is flying until I was able to scroll down and see his dad playing with him. You look amazing by the way! The family picture under Brooke holding a cookie for the baby is my personal fav. Have a very Merry Christmas!

December 21, 2015 at 9:19 amHi Lauren!
I haven’t been on your website for a while now.. because somehow I just stopped following foodblogs. However, yours has always been one of my favorite three and coming back here now and seeing these wonderful pictures. You’ve got a beautiful family and congrats on your pregnancy!
I’ll try to stop by more often again to see what you and the kids are up to. I Can’t believe how big Blake has gotten, seems like yesterday that you were pregnant with him! 🙂
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I wish you only the very best 🙂
