Family This Week at the Brennan's

This week at the Brennan’s

Brennan family on the bed

Another week of 2017 under our belts!

Here’s what I want to remember about this week:

Gordon and I have been working on getting our little family together to do scripture time in the mornings. A wee devotional of sorts. Once our kids are all awake the first thing we do is gather in our room to read. Our first week has been a struggle for sure, but we did it!! Here’s to an easier second week. (Also, do you see how crazy Eddie’s hair is? To cut or not to cut. That is the question.)

Lauren baking with Blake

I made my mom’s banana chocolate chip cake this week and it was glorious. I forgot how good my Mom’s recipes were. Actually, I know how good they are, I just forget things easily. Maybe I’ll post that recipe 🙂

Gordon snapped a few photos of Blake and I making this recipe and I’m so glad he did! I love having memories like this. Proof that I am sometimes a good Mom! Ha!

But Lauren, you’re always a good mom!

I try…

Also, that vein in my forehead is getting bigger. How do I make that not happen? Thoughts, anyone?

Eddie on the ground with Ziploc bags

Eddie has realized that he knows how to open drawers and cupboards. Everything ends up on the ground now! Pots and pans, ziploc bags, small appliances and his favorite: tupperware. He is so fast at emptying the tupperware drawer!

Eddie also started folding his arms for prayer and signing more this week!!

Gordon also blow-dried his hair after one of his baths and gave him an afro. It was the cutest, funniest thing ever!

Lauren and Brooke

This is her ‘smiling’ for this photo. She’s getting older and unimpressed with her mama.

Brooke and I were able to take a mother daughter road trip to Utah to visit one of my best friends from college! She has a daughter one year older than Brooke and they get along so so well! So, it was nice to catch up a little and have our girls play 🙂

I also went to a workshop while in Utah for this little blog of mine. I’ve never been so sure about transitioning into posting more about family than ever before. My life is so hectic and crazy, but then again, isn’t your life like this too? I’m not getting rid of my recipes all together because I really really like cooking and baking…but I’m trying to find a balance that will work for me….still figuring that one out 😉

Things we are looking forward to this week:

My Dad is coming into town for a visit! Hooray!

I’m taking Brooke and Eddie to the Pediatrician for check-ups. I think they both need immunizations. Maybe I’m not looking forward to that…

I’m also volunteering in Brooke’s classroom this week 🙂

I’ll be posting about our Disney trip with all the photos I took this week! I’m so excited to post them because I love them all!!

Oh, and Brooke is getting baptized at our church too! So.Much.Brooke!!

Have a great week, friends! xo

About Eddie’s hair. You’ll cut it when you’re ready–you’ll know when it’s time. And yes he will look more like a toddler then. But he’ll be just as adorable.

Do you know why my emails no longer come (I get weekly meal plan, but not new posts), and you no longer show up in my bloglovin feed. I have resubscribed to email and that didn’t fix it. You still are listed as in my feed on bloglovin…

I am also experiencing not getting your emails , I get the weekly meal plans but no new posts as Bryn as posted on 2/28/17. This has been for about a month. What fix can I try? It is not being sent to spam either.
