The Sugar Cube & Waffle Window

So, this post probably should have gone up months and months ago, but I’m just now getting around to it. Oh well!

After my Travel Oregon Trip, us bloggers {plus families} got together in Portland and ate the day away! Nothing is better than good food and good company πŸ™‚

We stopped at several restaurants, but these two carts were at the top of our list because we all had heard of such wonderful things about them all!

First we got a few amazing waffles at The Waffle Window. Do these not look just ridiculous?

waffle 1Kevin and Amanda shared this peanut butter waffle with ice cream and whipped cream! Totally decadent.

waffle 2Gord and I got the Nutella and banana waffle. Anything smothered with Nutella has gotta be good, right?

amanda 1And of course we documented as we went!

sugar cubeThen we went over to the Sugar Cube. All they sell are sweet treats! Maria and Caleb were checking it out and Amanda was getting serious about ordering!

sugar cube 1I was a little surprised to see how small their menu was, but considering all the treats are made in that tiny little food truck, it’s pretty impressive!

babyMy sweet husband was keeping this little one busy….bribing her with treats really took us a long way πŸ™‚ We’re such good parents! Lol!

cupcakeI ended up ordering this crazy looking thing. A fudgy chocolate cupcake with potato chips shoved into the top and drizzled with a whole lot of caramel sauce!cookieAmanda got Kevin this amazing ice cream sandwich. I’ve decided I love all things coated in caramel.

bloggersAnd yes, we took lots of pictures of these goodies too while the husbands just stood around and waited! I love this picture! Haha!

poutineAnd because I was pregnant {but no one knew yet} I snuck in a little poutine. Me + french fries = a settled stomach. I maybe had a quarter of these, if that, and it made my nausea go away! Weird how the body works, but whatever!

If you want to stop by these locations, here’s where you need to go! Maria and Amanda, come back to Portland anytime πŸ™‚

I’m clear down in Texas so the only chance I have to taste the cupcake is to make it myself lol.

Where did the Poutine come from?!?!? My husband lived in Quebec for 2 years and is addicted, so if there’s a cart that serves it, we must go. (My favorite waffles are the savory ones, The Three B’s and the Spicy Bacon Cheddar Jalapeno.)

I got it from the cart ‘Potato Champion’–at the carts right across the street from Lardo and the Sugar Cube.

I don’t know which looks better…the waffle, the cupcake, or the fries. YUM!! I pulled up the website for the waffle place and they make something that I have been dying to try…it’s called a LiΓ¨ge waffle. Mouth is totally watering now!!!

Growing up in Montreal, poutine is a staple food group and that was never more true than when I was pregnant with my eldest. I swear it has special healing powers :o)
