Six years is the number of years I’ve been blogging now. Six!!
I started when Brooke was just 8 months old and my husband was working away at his bachelors degree. We were in Idaho, living down the street from my sister. We were the definition of poor college students. But oh my heavens how we were happy.
From the time I started this blog in 2009 until now, my little family has:
Graduated college. {L&G}
Moved 6 times.
Appeared on Good Morning America {L}
Ran 5 half marathons {L}
Got a real grown up job. {G}
Bought a house.
Had another baby. {L}
Got laid off from said real job. {G}
Bought a mini van.
Lived through endless military trainings.
Became an officer. {G}
Got pregnant again with baby 3!!
Enrolled in a masters program. {G}
Turned this little blog of mine into a business.
And posted 1,071 recipes thus far.

Never in a million years did I think my blog, my family, my life and my recipes would end up on literally millions of computer screens around the world. Never did I think I could gain the confidence I needed to become a one woman show, and build this blog into a business. But, time and effort {and lots of prayers} put towards my small goals eventually turned into big goals reached. And big goals reached help grow my confidence and therefore this business.
THANK YOU to you 3 million+ readers that come visit me, my family and my recipes each month.
THANK YOU for your emails {even though I can’t reply to them all!}
THANK YOU for your kind thoughts and words; the comments you leave here and on social media.
THANK YOU for supporting my family {and thinking my kids are just as cute as I think they are.}
THANK YOU for saying hi to me at the grocery store, or Target or Barnes and Noble.
Grateful is what I am.
Grateful God has blessed me and my family with the means to make a living.
Grateful my job is something I love.
Grateful my job allows me (and my husband) to work from home and stay with our children.
And grateful for you, sweet readers.

December 21, 2016 at 4:50 amThis is amazing…and to think how far you have come NOW at the end of 2016! I remember when I first discovered you (in 2009-10?) and how different your blog feels now! I loved your family then and I love you guys now. Thanks for the great recipes, too.

December 23, 2016 at 6:11 amWow – it’s amazing how much can change in six years time. I didn’t realize that both you and your husband work from home. My parents both worked from home from the time I was born, until I was seven, and I think it was SO good for my childhood development to have them both around so much as I was growing up.
