Family photo1. In a few weeks I’ll be participating in a relay with 11 other running friends of mine. This basically means we’ll all be in a van taking turns running for 190 miles from Portland to Eugene. {Oregon}

2. Umm…..what was I thinking?

3. I also on a whim signed up for the Portland Marathon. It was voted as one of the best marathons to run as a 1st marathon. Plus the last 8 miles are downhill so I considered that a bonus.

4. I think somewhere along the lines I forgot that it’s still 26.2 miles I have to run. {Again, what was I thinking?}

5. I have had this song and this song on repeat in my head. I hate it. But I love it. Ahh! I’m so torn.

6. I bought a gallon of cream at Costco yesterday. I’m on my 3rd batch of ice cream. Please. Someone come stop the madness. I can’t help myself.

7. I also bought 17 million mushrooms at Costco too. These are happening tomorrow. Nothing says Memorial Day like cheesy ‘shrooms.

8. My husband really likes older Drama movies. Since we have netflix, he has unlimited access to said films. Every time he starts one, I want to punch someone in the throat. It’s a problem.

9. I only like happy movies with zero violence or sadness. Basically romantic comedies.

10. We never watch movies together.

11. Callie has been giving us previews of our family photos we had done a few weeks ago. Basically, it’s torture. These are two of the ones we’ve seen. Which do you like? {see above}

12. Pinterest was down a few hours yesterday morning and I almost went crazy. Almost.

13. Well, technically I’m already crazy since I had this dream. And I talked myself into running a bleepity bleepin’ marathon.

14. I think I’ll pop in a chic flick and eat ice cream.

PS- These cookies are the bomb and must be made.

    I like the picture of you standing up, it’s a more flattering picture of your beautiful daughter , it shows your handsome husbands dimple and all three of you look more relaxed. Beautiful family!! Good luck on your run! I would haveoved to run a marathon when I was young! Have fun

    I’m glad I’m not the only one who both loves and hates those songs! So catchy! I’ve really enjoyed your blog btw but this is the first time I’ve commented. What a great family photo!!!

    Wow, a relay and a marathon? You’re inspiring me to sign up for my first marathon too!

    And Costco sells gallon-sized cream? I can’t believe I’ve never seen them! I’ll definitely keep my eyes peeled on my next Costco trip.

    As for the family portrait, I love both of them, but if I had to choose, I’d go with the one of the left.

    Have a great Memorial Day! 🙂

    1. Is it possible you could just drive the van and provide snacks?
    2. I have no idea what you were thinking. If I were to run, someone should have an ambulance on stand by.
    3. Portland is a BEAUTIFUL city. Enjoy the sights 🙂 (Feeling better yet?)
    4. I will be in a recliner 🙂
    5.I have the Carly Rae song stuck in my head but only while visualizing the Harvard baseball team doing the moves…do not watch the video of them doing this. It will never leave your head!
    6 & 7. I’m jealous that you have Costco so close. Ours is an hour and a half away and that means I would have to get out of #4.
    8, 9 & 10. My husband and I don’t watch movies together either. I like mysteries and old movies. My husband likes comedies and action…hmmmm, this sounds familiar.
    11. My daughter FINALLY got her dance pictures. They’re awesome but I feel like I stalked the photographer for a month before they arrived.
    12. Pinterest is my crack. I’ve never smoked crack but I’m thinking that’s what it must be like 🙂
    13. If we find you a moose maybe you’ll run faster!
    14. Have fun!

    Good luck with choosing just one of those photo’s! Good luck with the marathon. I love and miss Portland, Oregon. I lived there for 15 years. I still have family and friends there. That baton run from Portland to Eugene sounds awesome. Best wishes for everything you do. I enjoyed being here today even more than usual! 🙂

    Thank you so much for this site! I have been trying your recipes and we have loved all of them! Tonight we had kale and sausage soup. I had some potatos to get rid of so we used them instead of the beans. Was a perfect meal for a stormy fall evening in Georgia! I am also a runner! I am running my second marathon in January (Disney!).
