Lauren and Brooke

1. Hello 5th of July. You aren’t nearly as exciting as your cousin, the 4th. Actually, you kind of blow. Laundry? Dishes? Cleaning?   Son of a……

2. Yesterday we were in Hood River with the Brennan side of the family partying, fireworking and parading it up.

3. This basically means we ate for 6 hours straight.

4. Luckily, I got a run in before the shoveling of the food commenced. It was on the longer side with a hill twice the size of Everest.

5. Just kidding. T’was thrice the size.

6. This morning I woke up to sore ankles. ANKLES! Is that weird or what? Not sore quads, hamstrings or shin splints…ankles. My left love handle is also a little sore.

7. These two injuries are unrelated. I think.

8. For our 4th of July shindig, my brother-in-law made some killer smoked pork butt with three homemade BBQ sauces. It was basically amazing. I had a really hard time stopping myself from saying “Hey Zach, I’m loving your butt” or “Your butt tastes so gooooooood” or “I can’t believe you spent 12 hours on your butt!”

9. Lauren = immature.

10. I really wanted to make this pie yesterday {because I really needed the extra 10,000 calories} but had a nap instead.

11. Guess what I’m making today…

12. I suppose I should start cleaning my house now. Except talking to you invisible internet friends is just so much more fun!

13. Ok, I’m going.

14. Ok, now I’m done.

15. Really.

I take diet breaks on holidays. Which makes today, the 5th of July THE ABSOLUTE WORST. You are hilarious! Totally craving that pie now… Thanks a billion….

Ha!!! Pork butt is a hopeless cause. 🙂

And cheers to fireworks and 6 hours of eating! Two of my favorite things – ha!
